Improvements to fully signalise the Boreham Interchange. This will allow Colchester Road and White Hart Lane to be downgraded to local roads once the Relief Road is open. The works will also facilitate access to the planned new station at Beaulieu.

Further details can be viewed on the Background Information page.

The changes that are being made to the Boreham Interchange involve connecting the Interchange to the new Relief Road, which will become the A131, together with an increase to the capacity and improvements to the Pedestrian and Cycle Routes, which run through the interchange.

Work will commence on February 1st 2021 and Phase 1 will be completed in the Autumn of 2021. The final section of the Link Road (RDR) will then be constructed with the full works complete by November 2022.

Where possible, works will be undertaken 24/7 to reduce the length of any disruption.

Graham Construction on behalf of Countryside Zest

An accelerated programme for construction has been agreed which will involve a considerable amount of the works being undertaken 24/7 to reduce the length of any disruption.

For most of the project the works can and will be undertaken with the majority of the lanes within the interchange remaining open. At different stages of the project, for a short period overnight lane closures are required, with diversions in place.
